Dr. Mario del Pino has been performing weight loss surgery operations since 2003. He came to McAllen from Pittsburgh where he completed training in Bariatric Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the most prestigious surgical institutions of the country.
He has achieved several accreditations in the surgical field. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and he has been designated as a Center of Excellence Surgeon in weight loss surgery. His last accomplishment was to become a Fellow of the American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. This is a very special recognition that reflects his experience, knowledge, commitment and dedication to the field of weight loss surgery and his patients. Dr. del Pino performs about 150 weight loss surgery operations every year which include the Lap Band, Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass.
